Response Paper
Please compose a 2-3 page paper in which
you respond to the assigned selection from Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s essay The
1. Summarize
briefly what you take to be the main points of the reading
2. Describe
what strikes or interests you in the reading and how you react to it
3. Say
what, if anything, the reading teaches you about the tradition that you didn’t
know
4. Include
any questions about the Hindu tradition that the reading raises for you
The paper should be 2-3 pages long
(typed), double-spaced with 12 point font and 1” margins. It should be well written and carefully
checked for spelling and grammatical errors.
I will evaluate the papers according to whether they reflect (1) an
accurate reading and (2) some serious reflection about the reading.
Papers will receive either
a 0 (no points), √
(7 points) or √+ (10 points).
The response paper is due at the beginning
of class on Monday, Feb 5. Late response
papers will not be accepted. Please
check the syllabus for the policy on lateness due to computer failure.
