Reading Response Paper Assignment

Please compose a 2-3 page paper in which you respond to the LOH selection (choose one if there are two)

assigned for our next class meeting.  If the assigned reading is not an LOH selection, it will be indicated in the syllabus.

The paper is due on the day for which the reading assignment is due. Late papers will not be accepted.

In your paper, be sure to do the following:

1. Summarize briefly what you take to be the main points of the reading

2. Describe what strikes or interests you in the reading and how you react to it

3. Say what, if anything, the reading teaches you about the tradition that you didn’t know

I will evaluate the papers according to whether they reflect (a) an accurate reading and (b) some serious reflection about the reading.  Papers that do both will receive full points.

The paper should be 2-3 pages long (typed), double-spaced with 12 point font and 1” margins.  It should be well written and carefully checked for spelling and grammatical errors.  Please do not email papers. Papers under two full pages will receive fourteen points or less.
